A (no brakes) Break from Atlanta.
We’re still teasing all the photos and stories from Georgia, get yer ass to The Bench to see it! In the mean time, here’s a topic near and dear to The $tatus Faction; BIKES!
We love bikes, ALL kinds. We love building them, selling them, and of course RIDING them!
Here’s a mere snippet of our frequently transforming collection:
•••1978 STREET SYSTEM 100 TEAM MURRY•••
Let’s just start with a BMX first, one of the oldest we still own (sold the 1976 Schwinn Daisy converted with a lowrider fork). This is not a new jack bike, owned this for 15 years. Take a look and notice that there’s no brakes on there. T$F isn’t the hipster on the “fixie,” done been riding no brakes since before it was trendy. You drag your foot over the rear tire to slow down, remember doing that?!?! We dig the road bikes and fixed gears too, we dig actually getting places. We’re really getting intrigued by the hybrid bmx/track bike style (ala new generation Volume Cutters). Who knows what’s next? Who fuckin cares….
Note the laid-back seat post and the straight bars. Got some rust on ’em but this piece has done more bunny hops than your mother.
•••VINTAGE 55CM PEUGEOT ISERAN•••
This bike was made in France during the late 1980’s. It is extremely light for a road bike of this time period, made of “103 Carbolite”. Everything is in perfect working condition. It’s been converted to a fixed gear with 27″ wheels, riser bars, new bottom bracket, and original Peugeot decals.
This 55cm complete bike is for sale too- $250 OBO– holler quick!!!
•••50CM SURLY STEAMROLLER•••
This is a recently acquired track frame. Not much too say, it’s a fairly new model and it’s chocolate brown. Got a great price on this work in progress. The intentional build will be a trick bike- great for bar spins!
•••55.5CM IRO ANGUS•••
Do you want a something a little more old school? The Angus Fixed Gear Bike is what’s up! The frame is made from Reynolds 631 tubing. Sleek and simple lines. There is no rear brake mount, no cable stops. This bike is at home at the track or on the street.
This thing is hard! Fu-manchu fork, custom green painted 3.5″ riser bars, with purple Oury grips, looks like the “Joker!” Blue anodized Chris King headset, Formula hubs and the ubiquitous black Weinmann deep-V rims.
I can’t explain the multitude of levels there is with our passion for bicycles- it’s ALL positive! We’ll be posting new and different bikes often!
Send us pics of YOUR dope build! We’ll post them here!
